Name/Instrument: Kitova McCarthy/Guitarist
Amp Set-up: Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier is the head I use. The guitar cabinet i use is either a POS Peavy cab or a Marshall 1960 4×12’s celestions
Describe the thought process and journey it took to find your unique sound: Id say I’m still trying to find it really. Learning to play the guitar I was a Metal Kid that was into Punk. Initially Mesa boogie a Marshall Cab and a Fender Telecaster where the only things I knew I had to have ,so once I got those I was set I’ve had my set up for years , but since then there has been a huge advancement in gear as far as the technology side of it goes that i think are really cool so I’m sure once i get a chance to try some new stuff out ill geek out on it but I’m pretty simple …..so long as the gear i use covers the Rock genre spectrum …good crunch/distortion , beautiful cleans and topped off with clarity through out but most of that is in the “guitar player” so i should journey into practicing more .
Pedal Board Setup: Its basic bitch pedal board….. a Boss Delay , Noise Suppressor, Tuner , and Phaser.
What is the thought process behind your pedal board and what does it do for your sound: There really isn’t a thought process. As i encountered issues ( for example tuning or feed back ) as a player i would find solutions in a pedal. for the most part the pedals i use just exaggerate what I’m trying to create in my head through my instrument But once i get more cash and time I’m sure ill get into some overly complicated pedal setup which I’m really excited about HA! Name/Instrument: ViSHNU/Guitarist/Back Up Vocals
Amp Setup: Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier (Head) & Mesa Boogie Speakers
Describe the thought process and journey it took to find your unique sound: The goal for my guitar sound when recording an album and/or playing live is to achieve clarity in our sound while still sounding big. Being able to hear what we’re playing on guitar is a must. I’m a big fan of Eddie Van Halen’s Peavey sound but at the same time I love the heavy guitar sound of Metal. I try to create a perfect marriage of the two sounds. After demo so many amps I’ve settled with Mesa Boogie as my live amp and Peavey 5150 for Studio.
Pedal Board Set-up: Consist of only a Boss DD20 (delay pedal), Noise Suppressor & TUNER.
What is the thought process behind your pedal board and what does it do for your sound: I write very simple music and it’s reflected on the pedals that I own. I do plan on expanding my arsenal but in the meantime our music only consist of 3 sounds. Distortion, Clean and Delay Fx. which for me it’s great because that means less tap dancing on stage and more leg room to Rock Out!!!
Favorite piece of gear you own: I don’t have a favorite piece of gear because one I hold close to me is my 1959 Gibson Black Beauty given to me by my Father as a gift Favorite piece of gear I don’t OWN yet – Any SHIMMER Pedal from NEUANBER. I’m a fanatic of Ambient Sounds.
Favorite piece of gear you don’t own YET: PRS Guitars or Mayones because they feel smooth to play and look sexy and I’d like to upgrade my Peavey 5150 to the EVH 5150 3.
